Royal Worcester’s unrivalled reputation for producing fine bone china and porcelain tableware of the highest quality has evolved during almost 250 years of craft-led heritage.
Your tableware is richly decorated with a burnished gold pattern. It can be used with confidence on a regular basis provided the simple care guidelines below are followed to prevent damage to the items.
  • HEATING
Fine Bone China is strong and durable, however, is not suitable for cooking purposes. You can use it safely in the freezer if you take care not to transfer it directly from the freezer to, e.g. hot water.
To pre-heat your fine bone china before use, put in a cold oven and warm gently. Avoid placing directly into a hot oven.
  • MICROWAVE OVENS
Due to the rich gold decoration on all your products, they cannot be used in a Microwave Oven. This would severely damage them.
  • STORING
Plates and bowls should be lifted out from a stack carefully without sliding surfaces over one another to prevent the risk of scratching. Store cups either on cup hooks or individually, as stacking can weaken handles.
  • CLEANING
Ware can be washed in a dishwasher but only on a gentle cycle (maximum temperature 65°c) with a detergent tested and recommended by Royal Worcester. Some dishwasher detergents are strongly caustic and, therefore, are not recommended.
See the list of dishwasher detergents rigorously tested by our laboratory and approved by Royal Worcester. Use the correct amount of detergent recommended by the manufacturer and avoid overloading the machine (ensure pieces do not touch).
If you have difficulty in obtaining a recommended detergent and need to use an alternative locally available one, Royal Worcester will be pleased to evaluate it, prior to use, to ensure that it will not harm the rich decoration on the product.
If you wash by hand, for ease of handling and to prevent risk of damage, avoid putting too many plates into the water at once. Normal detergents for hand washing will not harm your Royal Worcester tableware. Abrasive cleaners or scourers could damage the surface glaze and pattern and therefore, should not be used. Most stains can be easily removed by soaking in warm water with detergent before washing; more stubborn stains can be removed by soaking in a mild bleach solution for a few minutes. Minute marks caused by metal deposits from cutlery can be removed with tooth powder.
